Monkspath is a delightful detached house with a private heated swimming pool set in extensive private grounds and with coastal viws from all the front facing rooms. It is very attractively situated in the small rural hamlet of Limerstone and is only 1.5 miles from the south west coast of the Isle of Wight. There is a quiet beach at Brighstone which is good for paddling and swimming and several small sandy coves are within a short drive. This is also a wonderful walking area with footpaths following the downs at the rear of Monkspath on the Worsley / Tennyson Trial towards the Needles. The house is within a 15 minute drive of the market town of Newport and the attractive coastal town of Yarmouth, renowned for its sailing.
Monkspath is a lovely, secluded property protected by high hedging and large gates which open into the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. There are views across fields to the sea at the front of the house and there are fields and downs at the rear. The house has been furnished and equipped with great care to provide delightful, luxurious accommodation. It is centrally heated and there are fitted carpets throughout most of the property. It sleeps 11 plus a baby in 5 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a light and spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas, wide screen LCD television / Freesat / DVD and a wood burning stove which provides a pleasant focus for the room during colder weather; a second small attractive sitting room with a sofa, a second LCD television / Freesat /DVD; an elegant dining room with a table and chairs which will comfortably seat 12 people. French doors open from here into a small conservatory where visitors can relax.
The kitchen is a light, spacious well equipped room with attractive fitted units, a range style cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher. There is also an AGA which will be switched on in the colder months and a central table for informal meals. A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the adjoining utility room. There are also two separate W.Cs with basins on the ground floor. Stairs lead up to three lovely double bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are very spacious with King Size beds and have en-suite shower rooms with W.Cs. These rooms both have good views across the fields to the sea and one has a balcony. The third double bedroom overlooks the garden and has an en-suite bathroom with hand shower, basin and W.C. The fourth bedroom is also a lovely pleasant room with a full size bunk bed. There is a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and basin plus a separate W.C. A further small flight of stairs leads up to a spacious triple room with a connecting door into the playroom. A travel cot/high chair can be provided. There is a telephone and WiFi.
In the secluded gardens Monkspath has a delightful heated swimming pool and there is teak garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue. The heated pool is available from mid May to the end of October. At other times the availability of the pool is dependent on the weather. There is a cover available that will prevent a small child from falling in the pool. There is also a large trampoline (with safety nets) plus a triple swing, a playhouse and slide. The gardens are fenced and there are large lawns and shrubberies at the front and side of the house. The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
Inland are the Tennyson Downs which connect Alum Bay to Carisbrooke. The Downs make a lovely walk even if you choose only to do a short part of them. Cycle paths and footpaths are especially numerous in this part of the Isle of Wight. View more West Isle of Wight Cottages

Extremely comfortable and well positioned house for a relaxing holiday. The ambient temperature pool was very warm for almost the whole week and we made good use of the properties ample facilities. Would recommend. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

Fantastic cottage with great facilities. We hadn't planned to use the pool, but the owner recommended it over the telephone, so we did so. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

Lots of space, clean, pool and grounds in a great location - what more do you want. The house is wonderful, big, clean and has great facilities. 100% happy and will no doubt return for another visit. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

By some margin the best hol house we've rented. No complaints at all. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

The towels supplied for pool use were excellent. A more obvious external name for the house would be an advantage for those arriving in the dark. The paddock was very useful for kite flying. Every age group was well catered for, in our case 3 - 72 years. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

We spent a lovely Christmas with all our family. House was well equipped and Christmas decorations were super! Mild weather meant we had great fun in the garden, flying kites and playing hide & seek with the children. The Aga cooked our Limerstone Farm turkey beautifully! Overall Rating: 5 Stars
